Agartala is the capital city of Tripura. It’s a small, but beautiful state located in the northeastern region of India. It is believed and further supported by many references that the name Agartala was derived from the words ‘Agar' and 'Tala', a mention to the density of Agarwood trees in the region.

Day 1
Arrive AgartalaArrival at Agartala Airport and transfer to hotel. Agartala is the capital as well as the largest city of the Indian state of Tripura and also is the second largest city in North-east India after Guwahati, both in municipal area and population. The city is the seat of the Government of Tripura. Agartala is one of the fastest developing cities of India. Agartala is a component of two words, namely "Agar", a kind of oily valuable perfume tree, suffix "tala", a store house. The city is governed by the Agartala Municipal Corporation. Agartala lies on the bank of the Haora River and is located 2 km from the Bangladesh Border. Later on sightseeing in Agartala visiting Benuvan Bihar Buddhist Temple, Chaturdash Devta Temple and Purbasha Tripura Govt. Handicrafts Emporium, (Closed on Sundays & Govt. holiday, Open time: 10 AM – 7 PM). Overnight at hotel.
Day 2
Agartala – Udaipur – Agartala (53 kms 2 hours approx. one way)Breakfast at hotel and drive to the lake city Udaipur, on arrival visit Tripura Sundari Temple (Open all days, Time: 6 AM-12:00 PM & 4:00-8:00 PM) also popularly known as Matabari Temple which is one of 51 shaktipeethas. Continue your journey to visit Neermahal (Open all days, Timing: 8 AM to 4 PM) (also known as Lake Palace) – a former royal palace built by Maharaja of Tripura Kingdom Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya bahadur. Board a boat and enjoy beautiful ride to reach the Mahal. Return to Agartala, on arrival visit Ujjayanta Palace (Closed on Mondays & Govt. Holidays, Open Time: 11 AM – 5 PM) – converted as a state museum and the former palace of the Kingdom of Tripura. Evening free to visit Agartala Bazaar for local shopping (Suggested: Purbasha Tripura Govt. Handicrafts Emporium, Closed on Sundays & Govt. holiday, Open time: 10 AM – 7 PM). Overnight at hotel.
Day 3
Agartala – Unakoti – Agartala (135 kms4 hours approx. one way)Early morning (Suggested – carry packed breakfast) proceed to visit Unakoti Rock carvings (Open all days) – an ancient wonder, the hidden gem of Tripura. It is ‘Shaiba’ (Shiva) pilgrimage and dates back to 7th – 9th centuries if not earlier. The marvellous rock carvings, murals with their primitive beauty, waterfalls are not to be missed. Unakoti means one less than a crore and it is said that these many rock cut carvings are available here. Among the rock cut carvings, the central Shiva head and gigantic Ganesha figures deserve special mention. The central Shiva head known as ‘Unakotiswara Kal Bhairava’ is about 30 feet high including an embroidered head-dress which itself is 10 feet high. Evening return to Agartala. Notes: Moderate trek/walk (approx 1.5 km one way) is involved. This place is located in remote village of Tripura. Road condition is not good. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4
Departure to Agartala airportBreakfast at hotel and departure transfer to the airport in time for onward connection.
