Day 1Arrival PhuentsholingOn arrival at Bagdogra Airport, (500Ft / 150Mts) you will be met by our local representative who will assist you to board your vehicle to Phuentsholing (165 Kms/ 05 Hrs). On arrival in Phuentsholing, met by our representative, after clearing immigration formalities, check in at the Hotel. Later if time permit Visit Zangtho Pelri: Situated in city Centre, this small temple represents the heaven of Guru Rinpoche. Later in the evening explore the local market. Overnight at the hotel in Phuentsholing.
Day 2Phuentsholing to Thimphu (6 hrs)After the breakfast, proceeding to Thimphu. The drive to Thimphu is very scenic, once we climb up from the Indian plain to Bhutan foot hills through beautiful forest, towns and road side villages. Our drive will pass through Gedu, Chukha, and Chuzom before emerging ourselves into the only multi culture city in Bhutan. Check into the hotel, evening we will explore the city by walk. Overnight in Thimphu, 2300m.
Day 3Thimphu SightseeingIn the morning we will visit Handmade paper mill, School of Arts and crafts (closed on Sundays, government holidays) where students learn 13 different arts used predominantly in Bhutan. We will also visit nearby folk heritage museum and National Library before lunch. After lunch, drive pass by Memorial Chorten built in memory of the 3rd King. Visit Buddha viewpoint, Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the valley, Enclosure where national animal, Takin are kept and Zilukha Nunnery. Overnight in Thimphu
Day 4Thimphu to Punakha (75Kms 3hrs)After breakfast, proceed toward Punakha (Total 3 hours driving time). En-route, halt at Dochu La - A mountain pass leading further into the Punakha Valley. It offers a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of Eastern Himalayan mountain ranges. The view is especially scenic on clear, winter days with snowcapped mountains forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 chortens gracing the mountain pass. Enjoy lunch at newly open restaurant Druk Wangyel Cafe and visit Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lakhang on your way to Punakha. Overnight stay in Punakha.
Day 5Punakha to Paro (130Kms 4hrs)After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to Paro.The Paro valley extends from the confluence of the Paro Chhu and the Wang Chhu rivers at Chuzom upto Mt. Jomolhari at the Tibetan border to the North. This picturesque region is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley.After checking into your hotel, you would proceed for a sightseeing tour of Paro which would include Drukgyel Dzong – Ruins of an old fortress in Paro, Kyichu Lakhang – Famous Monastery in Paro &Ta-Dzong –National Musuem of Bhutan. Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 6Paro SightseeingIn the morning, we will hike to Tiger’s Nest Temple, the most revered temple in the country that literally hangs on a granite cliff overlooking the Paro valley at 900m above the valley floor. The temple is associated with Guru Rimpoche who visited in 8th century and believed to have meditated three months in this cave and converted entire valley into Buddhism. It is 2 hours walk up hill for an average hiker; however it can take our almost entire day too. Evening back to the hotel and relax. Overnight in Paro.
Day 7Paro – Phuentsholing (180 Kms/ 06 Hrs)After our breakfast we will retrace our scenic drive back to Phuentsholing. Relax in the hotel and get prepared for your departure the next day.
Day 8Phuentsholing Drop: (160 Kms/ 05 Hrs)After early breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed for Bagdogra Airport to board the return flight, Our representative will help you with exit formalities and then bid you farewell.
